I ♥ LIVERPOOL

This is a new category in my blog. I like travelling, sightseeing and taking pictures with my dSLR. Unfortunately hundreds of pictures just end up on my harddrive and hardly ever get looked at. So I had the thought of creating collages of my favourite pictures and publish them here.
First one is LIVERPOOL. This city is a great cultural spot, a lot of museums, great bars, brilliant architecture (I love the symbiosis of the old Albert Docks and the new Zaha Hadid Liverpool museum),  well known for it's stag and hen parties and since Liverpool ONE a perfect place for shopping, people watching and enjoying the sunshine. Always worth a trip!

Valentine's Day

 ...Love is in the card...

I found this brilliant 3d pop up heart on http://www.creativepopupcards.com/

I didn't want to create a kitschy Valentine's card and hence added some contemporary and fresh touch to the card cover. As the 3d heart inside is quite bulky, the ribbon bolds the card closed but also adds some special flavour to it.

In addition to the card, I treated my Valentine with hand made biscuit hearts finished with green coloured icing, Hundred and Thousands and sugar pearls.

Kirstie Allsopp's inspired embroidery

This work kept me busy quite a while but I'm very proud of it...my first hand embroidery since I left primary school.
I saw the flower in Kirstie Allsopp's Craft book and it just made me want to create my own little embroidered flower. To hide the back with all the knots I knew straight away that I will have to go into a picture frame. As the flower looked slightly lost in the frame, I thought of a nice phrase to put aside; this was my first sentence I was thought in French: "Dans le jardin fleuris les fleurs." (No guarantee that this is written correctly!)

Blueberry Muffins

I love baking as much as I love eating cakes! For a nice Shakespeare in the Garden performance with picnic I made those blueberry muffins. Very simple and very summery.

Blue Based Cards

And again, a few more cards that I created on another rainy Sunday...at least the British summer is good for one thing :-)

The first two cards use an old blue paper as a base - silver writing is stuck onto white paper which builds a nice contrast to the blue. A white fabric flower is attached to the card with some baby blue and white checked ribbon. Crystal stones give the card the final touch.

Inspired by nature - my Mum found that leaf when we were walking around in the Cotswolds this year. Isn't is great how you can see the structure of it?! Combined with ribbon, blue sparkle stones and ready is a simple but very effective card.

Aquarell

I haven't been painting or drawing for a long time. So when it was raining heavily here on Friday afternoon I decided to get the old aquarell paint box out and do some simple flower drawings...a bit of ribbon, matching coloured paper and ready are some new cards.

Wedding

For my parents 30th wedding anniversary I made this lovely 3d heart car - which you might have seen on my blog already. Kisses to Momy and Dad!

Dinner Party

I made this invitation cards for my birthday dinner party.

Summer Feeling

Finally, the dark grey days are over and the sun has shown it's face. Only downside - less time in a cosy home spending on card crafting...

But enough time to design a Mother Day's Card for the best Mum in the world.

And for some special friends back in Germany. Far away but always in my heart and mind.

Sorry, the quality of these pictures isn't that great...happens when you take them in a rush before the post office shuts.

Flower Chic

Another recycling project on a rainy TV evening. To be recycled: the packaging of my new Cath Kidston phone case. I've chosen a green card board paper to be used for the actual card. Accents of white and dark rose coloured paper harmonise with the floral prints. The result was a collection of several cards that can be used as well for "Birthday" greetings as for "Thank you" thoughts.
